The KIDDIN project — Knowledge and Innovation Deployment of Digital Infant Newtech — officially launched in Córdoba, Spain, bringing together 17 partners from across Europe. Co-funded by the European Union through the Interregional Innovation Investments (I3) Instrument, the project aims to support the adoption of AI-powered solutions for the early detection, diagnosis and prevention of childhood diseases within regional health systems. The three-year project brings together health organisations, clusters and innovation stakeholders to help move promising digital health solutions from research and development into real-world healthcare settings.
HDHC is contributing to the project by leading the development of the first pan-European Smart Specialisation Hub for paediatric digital health. Over the course of the project, HDHC will work with partners to:
- Develop the Hub's governance model, common standards and trust framework for children's health data.
- Connect regional ecosystems, including hospitals, SMEs, clusters and investors, across more than eight European regions.
- Align the Hub with relevant European-level digital health initiatives.
- Establish the KIDDIN Venture Circle to support innovation and investment in paediatric digital health.
The project also brings together several European cluster organisations, including the Health Technology iVita Cluster, the Digital Health and Innovation Cluster Bulgaria, and ROHEALTH – The Health and Bioeconomy Cluster. Additionally, two HDHC members participate as project partners contributing in the pilots: REA Maternity Hospital and ATRIDE.
The kick-off meeting in Córdoba marked the beginning of the collaboration, with partners setting the foundations for the activities and objectives that will be developed over the next three years.
HDHC thanks SAS – Servicio Andaluz de Salud and IMIBIC/FIBICO for hosting the kick-off meeting and welcoming the KIDDIN consortium to Córdoba.
